Out & About: BBC Look North and a Naked Calendar

Last week I was featured on BBC Look North as part of their coverage for a charity calendar I photographed on behalf of RJC Plant Services. Taking inspiration from the original Calendar Girls fundraiser way back when, in June the guys at RJC got their kits off to raise awareness of male skin cancer and to raise money for Melanoma UK

When I first got the call from Vicky at Bevic Marketing I was surprised - it was a bit different to the usual brief 😂 But we had a chat with Zena at RJC, and she rounded up a list of volunteers to feature in each month.

The shoot was combined with a BBQ and a few beers, the mood was jovial, and there was quite a bit of ribbing gong on, but it was good natured and the boys really got into the spirit of it, standing by for each other to catch bath robes and pants at the last minute.

The result is the printed 2025 calendar which can be bought here with proceeds going to Melanoma UK.

We originally shot the calendar back in June when the weather was warmer - so when Look North got in touch last week to ask if they could come and film us recreating the shots, I felt for the lads who were asked to get their kit off again, this time in September!! Cathy Killick led the report and it got great coverage on tv, and across the web. I was interviewed too, cue lots of messages from family and friends telling me I’d been spotted on telly.

If you’d like to buy a copy of the calendar and support this important cause in 2025, you can find it here.
